About this Recipe

Tired of roasting marshmallows? Try these crispy, bacon-wrapped dates as an after barbeque treat. Easy to make, they can also be served as appetizers to keep your guests happy while the steaks grill. Everything tastes better with bacon, and dates are no exception!

1 Pkg Maple Leaf Lazy Maple Bacon
16 Pitted dates
(one per slice of bacon)

Preheat grill to medium, indirect heat.

Wrap one piece of bacon around each date. They can be secured with a toothpick or placed seam down, on a large piece of heavy foil. I like to use toothpicks to make it easier for guests to enjoy them. (Soak the toothpicks in water for 2 or 3 minutes before using).

Fold up edges of foil to form a large pan. Place on grill, close lid and cook for 20 to 25 minutes, until bacon is crispy.

Remove bacon wrapped dates from foil, and dab with paper towel to remove any excess grease. Allow time for the bacon and dates to cool to serving temperature before plating them.
