Don't let your sweet tooth go unnoticed with this cardamom puff pastry roll that will make for the perfect morning treat.
|.5 cup||(125 mL) Sugar|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Ground cardamom|
|1||(397 g) Package Tenderflake® Frozen Puff Pastry, defrosted overnight in refrigerator|
|.25 cup||(60 mL) Butter, melted|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Honey|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Water|
PREHEAT oven to 400°F (200°C).
MIX together sugar and cardamom, set aside.
ROLL out puff pastry into a 16 x 10 inch (40 x 25 cm) rectangle, on a lightly floured surface.
BRUSH pastry with melted butter, top with an even coating of sugar and cardamom mixture. Working from the long side, tightly roll up puff pastry into a log.
CUT log into sixteen 1 inch (2.5 cm) slices, place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Using the back of a large spoon carefully flatteb each pastry to 1/2 inch (1 cm) thickness.
WHISK together honey and water, brush over pastry.
BAKE in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until pastry is golden and flaky.
