Tangy ham kebabs that are perfect as an addition to the next summer potluck or family barbecue.
|1||Maple Leaf® Country Kitchen® Honey and Maple Smoked Ham, cut into 1” (2.5 cm) pieces|
|1||Mango, cut into 1” (2.5 cm) pieces|
|1||Red pepper, cut into 1” (2.5 cm) pieces|
|1||Bunch green onions, cut into 2” (5 cm) pieces|
|1/3 cup||(80 mL) Hoisin sauce|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Soy sauce|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Honey|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Freshly grated ginger|
|1/2 tsp||(2 mL) Chinese 5 spice powder|
|1||Clove garlic, minced|
PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high. Lightly coat the grill with a non-stick cooking spray.
ASSEMBLE ham, mango, pepper and green onion on skewers, alternating ingredients to create a colour contrast.
WHISK together all of the ingredients for the sauce. Brush the kebabs with the sauce and place on the preheated grill. Continue to brush the kebabs and turn frequently for 8-10 minutes or until lightly char-grilled and the ham is heated through.
Kebabs can be cooked under the broiler at high heat. Place on a baking sheet and cook turning and basting until lightly grilled and the ham is heated through.
If using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes prior to using to prevent burning.
