My personal take on healthier Sloppy Joes. They turned out really flavourful. A lot of people on my Facebook asked for the recipe.
|1 lb||extra lean ground turkey|
|1 1/2 can||lentils|
|1 can||Manwich sauce|
|1 cup||(diced) cremini mushrooms|
|1 tsp||ground chipolte chili pepper|
Fully cook the ground turkey in a pan, then add the lentils & diced up mushrooms & let it all heat up together. Add the ground chipolte chili pepper [& for those who do/don't like spicy food, just add to your preferred taste). Last step is to add the can on Manwich sauce.
Mix everything all together in the pan & serve on a gluten free or whole wheat bun.
- for a nice creamy texture, add a light amount of cheese & let melt
Quick, tasty dinner for family and/or friends. Fun, easy to make & very filling. For those worried about the lentils, you don't even notice they're in there. Enjoy!
