|1 cup||(250 mL) Boiling water|
|1/2 cup||(125 mL) Butter|
|1 cup||(250 mL) All-purpose flour|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Dry mustard powder|
|1/8 tsp||(.5 mL) Cayenne|
|1||(175 g) Package Schneiders® Country Naturals® Uncured Baked Ham, diced|
|1/3 cup||(80 mL) Grated Parmesan cheese|
PREHEAT oven to 425°F (220°C).
MIX boiling water with butter in a medium saucepan. Heat until the butter melts and the water comes to a boil. Add flour, mustard powder and cayenne. Beat until mixture forms a ball and leaves the sides of the saucepan.
Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition. Stir in ham and cheese.
PLACE one large spoonful of the pastry on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°F (180°C) and continue to bake for 5-8 minutes or until golden brown. Serve as a hot appetizer or an accompaniment to soup.
Puffs may be prepared ahead and stored, covered in the refrigerator. Reheat in a preheated 350° (180°C) oven for 8-10 minutes.
