Savoury and delicious bread with little nuggets of ham with melted cheese and herbs.
|1 3/4 cups||(425 mL) All-purpose flour|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Baking powder|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Salt|
|1/4 tsp||(1 mL) Black pepper|
|1/3 cup||(80 mL) Whole milk|
|1/3 cup||(80 mL) Olive oil|
|6 oz||(170 g) Maple Leaf® Country Kitchen® Smoked Ham, cut into ¼” (.6 cm) cubes|
|6 oz||( 170 g) Gruyere or Emmental cheese, grated|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) Chopped chives|
|1 1/2 tsp||(7 mL) dried thyme|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Dijon mustard|
PREHEAT oven to 350°F (180°C). Lightly butter an 8x4” (1.5 L) loaf pan.
WHISK flour, baking powder, salt and pepper together in a large bowl.
WHISK eggs, milk and olive oil in a medium bowl. Using a spatula, fold the wet ingredients into the dry. Fold in ham and cheese then the remaining ingredients. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the middle.
COOL on a wire rack for about 5 minutes before turning onto the wire rack to cool completely.
