Sweet maple syrup is the perfect complement to savoury slices of peameal bacon and slightly acidic mustard.
|1 Pkg||Dempster’s® Deluxe White Hamburger Buns (8) / Ben’s® Sesame Hamburger Buns (8)|
|2 lbs||(1 Kg) peameal bacon slices (about 1/8 inch slices)|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) maple syrup|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) grainy mustard|
|8||thick slices Cheddar cheese|
Preheat grill to medium-high heat; grease grate well. Grill peameal bacon for 1 to 2 minutes per side or until grill-marked. Baste with maple syrup and cook for 1 minute until glazed.
Assemble slices in buns with grainy mustard and Cheddar cheese.
If serving for less people, divide accordingly.
Substitute maple syrup with honey, if desired.
