Grilled Egg, Ham, and Havarti

About this Recipe

This is a great breakfast sandwich, but we enjoy it for lunch or dinner as well. The protein from the egg on this sandwich makes it a meal!

Ingredients

2 slices whole wheat bread
6 slices Maple Leaf Natural Selections Shaved Ham
1 slice of havarti cheese
1 egg
2 tbsp salted butter
non-stick cooking spray

Directions

Spray a small frying pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Crack an egg directly into the pan, and cook on medium-high. Break the yolk and flip once after 4 minutes, and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Remove egg from pan and set aside.
Butter two pieces of bread.
Set one slice of bread in the frying pan, butter side down.
Top with egg, then ham, then cheese.
Place second slice of bread on top, butter side up.
Cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes (or until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted), flipping once halfway through.
