Delicious, salty peameal bacon with sweet caramelized onions, Cheddar, tomatoes and a drizzle of honey mustard.
|8||Slices Schneiders® Country Naturals® Peameal Bacon|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Butter|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Olive oil|
|1||Large onion, thinly sliced|
|4||Villaggio® Italian Style Crustini Buns|
|4||Slices Cheddar cheese|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) Honey mustard|
PREHEAT BBQ to medium heat. Coat the grill with non-stick cooking spray.
HEAT butter and olive oil in a frying pan over medium-low. Add Onions and season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally for 15-20 minutes or until the onions are golden brown in colour.
GRILL bacon for 1-2 minutes per side or until evenly char-grilled.
ASSEMBLE sandwiches by topping the bottom buns with a slice of cheese, two slices of peameal bacon, caramelized onions and two slices of tomato on each. Drizzles with honey mustard, sandwich and serve.
