2 | Onion, thinly sliced |
2 tbsp | Olive oil |
1 tbsp | Worchestershire sauce |
1 lb | Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Extra Lean Minced Turkey |
2 | Cloves garlic, minced |
3 tbsp | Grainy mustard, divided |
1 tsp | Chopped fresh thyme |
1 | Egg yolk |
Salt & pepper | |
3 tbsp | Bread crumbs |
4 | Slices Gruyere cheese |
4 | Hamburger buns |
8 | Slices Maple Leaf® Bacon, cooked crisp |
HEAT oil in a large skillet over medium. Add onions and Worcestershire, cook, stirring occasionally for about 15 minutes or until golden brown and caramelized. Set aside.
PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high. Lightly coat the grill with non-stick cooking spray.
COMBINE turkey, garlic, mustard, thyme, egg yolk, salt, pepper and breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Mix gently with your hands and form into four equal patties.
GRILL patties for 6-8 minutes per side or until evenly char-grilled and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Top each with equal amounts of the caramelized onion and a slice of Gruyere cheese. Once the cheese has melted, place two strips of cooked bacon on the bottom of each bun followed by a burger smothered in onion and melted cheese. Spread the top half of the bun with mustard and place on top of the burgers.
