About this Recipe

If you like onion soup, I’m confident that you’ll really enjoy this very tasty variation.

1 lb Maple Leaf Prime Chicken thinly sliced
2 Spanish onions
1 tsp Bacon fat or lard
1 Meat flavouring cube
10 cups Water
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
4 Garlic powder dashes
6 Toasted French bread slices browned under broiler
1 cup Swiss cheese grated
1 cup Emmental cheese grated

Thinly slice the chicken and the onion. Melt bacon fat in a pan and cook the chicken and then the onion. Fry until both are well browned. Bring water to a boil and then add all the ingredients but the bread and cheese. Simmer for 1 hour stirring occasionally. Spoon out onion soup into each bowl until ¾ full. Place bread and cheese on top. Broil until golden brown. Hope you love it as much as I do.
