Creamy, delicious and quick! Mac and Cheese with bacon and a few added surprises, chicken, tomato and green onion.
|1/2 lb||(225 g) Fusilli or other short pasta|
|1 Pkg||(85 g) Maple Leaf® Ready Crisp® Fully Cooked Real Bacon Pieces|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Cajun seasoning|
|1 cup||(250 mL) Cheese spread or cream cheese spread|
|1 Pkg||(400 g) Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Strips|
|1 cup||(250 mL) Cherry tomatoes, halved|
|2||Green onions, thinly sliced|
BRING a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and reserve 1 cup (250 mL) of the pasta water.
HEAT a large skillet over medium-high. Add bacon bits and cook for 1-2 minutes or until heated through. Add Cajun spice, drained hot pasta. Melt cheese into the pasta. Stir in the remaining ingredients and toss gently to warm through. Add reserved pasta water a bit at a time if the sauce is too thick.
