These perfect tortilla chips only take 10 minutes to make, which means you never have to buy the unhealthy packaged kind again!
|3 cups||(750 mL) Vegetable oil|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Garlic powder|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Salt|
|1/2 tsp||(2 mL) Freshly ground pepper|
|1 Pkg||Dempster’s® Original Small Tortillas, cut into triangles|
HEAT oil in a large pot over medium-high heat to 350˚F (180˚C) on an instant read thermometer. Reduce heat to medium and maintain heat.
MIX spices together in a small bowl.
WORKING in batches fry tortilla triangles until golden brown. Be careful not to over crowd the pot. Remove tortillas from the oil to a paper towel lined baking sheet and sprinkle with seasoning. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
Use an electric deep fryer in place of pot with oil on stove top.
Serve with salsa and sour cream or your favourite dip.
