A delectable creamy pasta with yummy chunks of ham and peas!
|3/4 lb||(340 g) Orecchiette pasta (or your favourite pasta)|
|3 cups||(750 mL) Maple Leaf® Country Kitchen Smoked Ham, diced|
|1||Onion, finely chopped|
|3||Cloves garlic, minced|
|1 cup||(250 mL) Frozen peas|
|1 cup||(250 mL) Cream|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Italian seasoning|
|1-2 tbsp||(15-30 mL) Chopped fresh herbs (mint, parsley, thyme)|
|1/2 cup||(125 mL) Freshly grated Parmesan|
|Salt and pepper|
COOK pasta according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
MEANWHILE heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high. Add ham, onion and garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the onion is soft. Stir in peas, cream and Italian seasoning. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add pasta, Parmesan and fresh herbs. Mix together and serve with additional Parmesan and herbs sprinkled on top.
