Classic taste, but different due to not using regular noodles.


400 g lean ground beef
1 Pkg of Schneiders Country Naturals Hot Sicilian Countryside Sausage
skin removed
crumbled/mixed into lean ground beef
1 small onion
1/3 cup red peppers
1/3 cup yellow peppers
1 Pkg of Dempsters Tortillas (Large)
null salt and pepper to taste
2 tsp of garlic
1/2 tsp of oregano
1/2 tsp of parsley
1/2 tsp of basil
1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper
1/2 can crushed tomatoes
Italian. Drained.
1 cup chopped mushroom
2 cups of shredded mozzerella
1 can pasta sauce
250 g cottage cheese
2 eggs beaten


Cook beef/sausage mix on medium heat in large frying pan. Add onions, mushrooms, peppers, all the spices, garlic, then cook for another 5 minutes, add the pasta sauce and tomatoes. Remove from heat. In a 9x9 baking dish (deep) add some sauce then a tortilla, then layer with sauce, cheese and anther tortilla. In middle layer, add the cottage cheese (mixed with the eggs) in its own layer. Then continue with the layers until done. Top layer should be sauce and remaining cheese. Cook covered with tin foil for 30 minutes, final 10 minutes remove the tinfoil. Let set for 10 minutes before serving.
