So good. I actually got applause for this one when I brought it to a party last night.
|10||strips of thick slice bacon|
|1/2 cup||brown sugar|
|3 tbsp||maple syrup|
|1/2 cup||milk chocolate chips|
|2 tbsp||whipping cream|
|1/4 cup||Skor bits|
Cut bacon into 3 pieces and place the strips of bacon on a wire oven rack with a pan under it. Bake at 350 for 10 min. Meanwhile combine the rest of the sugar, maple syrup and water in a bowl and stir until smooth. Remove bacon from oven and brush with sugar mixture until well coated. Place back in the oven for 5 min. Remove from oven and turn bacon over. Coat with mixture again and place back in oven for 5 min. Remove from oven turn bacon and brush remainder of mixture onto it. Return to oven for 5 min. Bacon should be crispy. Remove bacon from rack and place onto parchment paper and cool in freezer for about 10 min to harden candy coating.
In a small bowl melt the chocolate chips (in the microwave on medium heat-stir as soon as it starts melting being careful not to overheat and scorch the chocolate). Stir in cream until it is smooth and creamy.
Pour the Skor bits into a separate small bowl.
Dip the end of each piece of cooled bacon into the chocolate to coat and then the Skor bits.
Place onto a tray and cool in fridge or freezer for a few minutes to set.
