When you blend sweet with salty the end result is just too good to pass up!
|1 lb||Maple Leaf Bacon|
|1 lb||Dark Chocolate - chopped|
Cut the slices of bacon in half and arrange on baking sheets. Place in a 300 F oven and cook until very crispy. Place on paper towel and allow to cool at room temperature.
Place a heat proof bowl over a pot of simmering water. Add half of the chocolate and allow it to melt completely. Remove from the heat and stir in the remaining chocolate until melted.
Dip the cooled crispy bacon into the chocolate length wise until half submerged, then place on parchment paper and allow the chocolate to set up.
* DO NOT throw out the left over chocolate! Once you have dipped all your bacon, pour the remaining chocolate and any bacon crumbs into a parchment lined pan (or chocolate/candy moulds if you have them!) and allow it to cool. Break it up into pieces for bacon flavoured chocolate!
