Crispy wings dusted in Chinese five spice powder and then tossed in a sticky honey-dry garlic chili sauce.
|.5 cup||(125 mL) Flour|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Chinese five spice powder|
|1||Package Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Chicken Wings|
|Salt and pepper|
|.25 cup||(60 mL) Dry garlic sauce|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Honey|
|2||Green onions, chopped|
|1||Red chili, finely chopped|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Rice vinegar|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Sriracha sauce|
PREHEAT deep fryer oil to 350°F (180°C).
COMBINE flour and Chinese five spice powder in a shallow pan. Season chicken with salt and pepper and toss in flour.
DREDGE chicken in flour. Shake off any excess flour and deep fry for 8-9 minutes or until golden brown and the internal temperature has reached 185°F (85°C). Work in batches if necessary. Do not over crowd fryer.
COMBINE remaining ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Toss hot crispy wings in sauce and serve.
