Chicken tostados are easy to make and a great way to get young ones in the kitchen and helping out.


8 Dempster’s® Original or Corn Tortillas
Vegetable oil
1 (14 oz/398 mL) Can refried beans, warmed
3 Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts, cooked and shredded
2 cups (500 mL) Shredded lettuce
2 Green chili peppers, thinly sliced
8 Radishes, thinly sliced
1 Avocado, pitted, peeled and sliced
1 cup (250 mL) Grated Tex Mex cheese
2 tbsp (30 mL) Chopped cilantro
.33 cup (80 mL) Sour cream


HEAT 1 inch (2.5 cm) vegetable oil in a large skillet. Add tortillas, one at a time, and fry on both sides until crispy.

SPREAD refried beans on each tortilla. Top with chicken, lettuce, chili peppers, radishes, avocado and cheese.

GARNISH with cilantro and a dollop of sour cream. Serve immediately.
