An interesting twist on hamburgers.
|2.5 lb||Ground chicken|
|.5 cup||panko bread crumbs|
|.25 cup||chopped onion|
|.10 cup||diced red pepper|
|1 tsp||minced garlic|
|1 tsp||Worcestershire Sauce|
|1 tbsp||Italian Seasoning (mixture of savoury, rosemary, marjoram, oregano, thyme, basil and sage)|
|salt and pepper|
|12||slices of maple cured ham|
In a large mixing bowl, mix all of the burger ingredients together.
Divide the burger mixture into 12 equal sized portions. Divide each of those portions roughly in half. Flatten one half of the burger and place a slice of maple cured ham and 2 TBSP of cheese on top. Leave a little bit of room around the edges.
Place the other half of the burger on top and seal the edges together so that the toppings don't escape. Flatten into a hamburger patty shape.
Grill patties over medium heat, turning once. Brush with your favourite BBQ sauce. Top with cheese if you like. Cook to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
Serve burgers with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
