Great for breakfast or a dessert!
|2||Apple Pie Bagels|
|1 tbsp||salted butter|
|4 oz||old cheddar cheese|
|1/4 cup||maple syrup (optional)|
Melt butter over medium-high heat in a medium frying pan.
Slice cheddar into thin slices.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and nutmeg.
Open bagel along pre-cut line. Place half of the sliced cheese in each bagel. Push gently to flatten bagel slightly.
Dip each bagel into egg mixture, carefully turning once so that the entire bagel is coated.
Cook bagel for 8-10min, flipping once.
Be careful when turning the bagel both in the egg mixture as well as in the pan; we don't want to loose any cheese!
Maple syrup is optional because this is already sweet from the bagel.
