I topped a toasted Apple Pie Bagel with a cooked apple mixture to create a fun fall dessert.
|2 tbsp||white granulated sugar|
|1||apple, grated (leave peel on)|
|1/8 tsp||ground cinnamon|
|1 tsp||lemon juice|
|1||Apple Pie Bagel|
|1 tbsp||icing sugar|
|1/2 tsp||2% milk|
Place a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add sugar to the pan and shake to disperse evenly.
Heat the sugar, without stirring, until it becomes golden brown (caramelized).
Add the apples and stir them into the caramel. Reduce the heat to medium-low.
Add the cinnamon and lemon juice, and stir to combine. Allow the mixture to cook for about 5 minutes.
Add the butter, stir, and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Toast a bagel in your toaster or toaster oven.
Placed the toasted bagel on a plate.
Top with the cooked apple mixture.
Add the icing drizzle on top, if desired.
