Bacon, beer and maple syrup-What's more Canadian than that. Bet you can't stop at one.


10 slices thick bacon
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
3 tbsp beer
3 tbsp maple syrup


place strips of bacon on a wire oven rack with a pan under it. Bake at 350 for 10 min. Meanwhile combine the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and stir until smooth. Remove bacon from oven and brush with sugar mixture until well coated. Place back in the oven for 5 min. Remove from oven and turn bacon over. Coat with mixture again and place back in oven for 5 min. Remove from oven turn bacon and brush remainder of mixture onto it. Return to oven for 5 min. Bacon should be crispy. Remove bacon from rack and place onto parchment paper and cool in freezer for about 10 min to harden candy coating.
