These Buttermilk and Chive Biscuits will have your family and friends wanting more!
|2 cups||(500 mL) All-purpose flour|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Salt|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Baking powder|
|5 tbsp||(75 mL) Tenderflake® Lard|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Chopped fresh chives or green onions|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Chopped fresh parsley|
|1 cup||(250 mL) Buttermilk|
|¾ cup||(175 mL) Grated Cheddar cheese|
|4 tbsp||(60 mL) Butter, melted|
PREHEAT oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
COMBINE flour, salt and baking powder in a large bowl. Using a fork or pastry cutter, cut lard into flour until mixture resembles course crumbs. Add herbs, cheese and buttermilk and stir to combine. Using an ice-cream scoop or spoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush the top of each with melted butter. Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
