Crispy bits of bacon, sweet tomatoes and crunchy oven baked croutons tossed in a creamy salad dressing. A BLT in a bowl!
|1||(300 g) Dempsters® Ovenfresh Baguette, cut into 1 inch (2.5 cm) cubes|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Italian seasoning|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) Olive oil|
|Salt and pepper|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) Mayonnaise|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Vinegar|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Sugar|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Lemon juice|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Milk|
|Freshly ground pepper|
|1||Head green leaf lettuce, torn|
|1 1/2 cups||(375 mL) Grape tomatoes, halved|
|8||Slices Natural Selections® Bacon, chopped and cooked crisp|
PREHEAT oven to 375˚F (190˚C). Place cubes of bread in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and toss to coat. Spread onto a baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes or until crisp and golden brown.
WHISK together all ingredients in a small bowl and chill.
ASSEMBLE salad by tossing lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and croutons together. Drizzle with salad dressing, toss gently and serve.
