About this Recipe

Crispy bits of bacon, sweet tomatoes and crunchy oven baked croutons tossed in a creamy salad dressing. A BLT in a bowl!

Ingredients

CROUTONS:
1 (300 g) Dempsters® Ovenfresh Baguette, cut into 1 inch (2.5 cm) cubes
1 tsp (5 mL) Italian seasoning
1/4 cup (60 mL) Olive oil
Salt and pepper
DRESSING:
1/4 cup (60 mL) Mayonnaise
1 tbsp (15 mL) Vinegar
1 tsp (5 mL) Sugar
1 tsp (5 mL) Lemon juice
1 tbsp (15 mL) Milk
Freshly ground pepper
SALAD:
1 Head green leaf lettuce, torn
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) Grape tomatoes, halved
8 Slices Natural Selections® Bacon, chopped and cooked crisp

Directions

CROUTONS:
PREHEAT oven to 375˚F (190˚C). Place cubes of bread in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and toss to coat. Spread onto a baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes or until crisp and golden brown.

DRESSING:
WHISK together all ingredients in a small bowl and chill.

SALAD:
ASSEMBLE salad by tossing lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and croutons together. Drizzle with salad dressing, toss gently and serve.
