Totally tasty sandwich that will shine at any BBQ gathering with the family, serve these up at your own risk-- you'll be making them all night for hungry customers!
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Paprika|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Salt|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Cayenne pepper|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Black pepper|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) White pepper|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Garlic powder|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Onion powder|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Dried oregano|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Dried thyme leaves|
|1 Pkg||Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Thin Slice Chicken Breast|
|1/2 cup||(125 mL) Melted butter|
|5||Dempster’s® Original Hamburger Buns|
|1 1/2 cups||(375 mL) Shredded lettuce|
|CAJUN SLAW TOPPER:|
|2 cups||(500 mL) Grated cabbage|
|2||Shallots, thinly sliced|
|1||Red apple, julienned|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) Mayonnaise|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Cider vinegar|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Blackened spice mixture|
|Salt and pepper|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Sugar|
|Dash of hot sauce|
|1/4 tsp||(2 mL) Celery seed|
PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high heat. Lightly coat grill with non-stick cooking spray.
COMBINE all the spices together in a small bowl. Sprinkle each piece of chicken liberally on both sides with the blackening spice mixture. Place on preheated grill and cook 10-12 minutes or until cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Turn occasionally throughout the cooking and baste the chicken with the melted butter for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking time.
CAJUN SLAW TOPPER:
TOSS all ingredients together in a medium bowl.
ASSEMBLE sandwiches by dividing shredded lettuce between the bottom half of each bun. Top each with a piece of chicken, Cajun slaw and the top of the bun.
