Beer battered fish and chips
1 lb | Halibut or Haddock |
2 cups | All Purpose Flour |
2 cups | Voodoo Donut Maple Bacon Ale |
1 tbsp | Baking Powder |
1 tsp | Garlic Powder |
½ tsp | Cayenne Pepper |
3 | Russet Potatoes |
Salt and Pepper | |
Vegetable or Canola Oil |
MAKE french fries according to package directions
MIX together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper in a bowl, and season with a bit of salt and pepper. Make sure to whisk this with a wire whisk
ADD in the beer little by little, and continue stirring until the mix has the same consistency as pancake batter
DUST the fish with flour.
HEAT oil to 350F and coat each piece of fish one by one and slowly lower them into the oil
PLACE fish pieces on a rack to get rid of the remaining oil, once they are done cooking (turned crispy and golden brown)
SERVE atop the fires, slice of lemon and some tartar sauce
