This is comfort food at it's best, and is easy to prepare.
1.4 cup | salted butter |
2 tbsp | white flour |
1 cup | 2% milk |
1 | egg |
1 tbsp | ground paprika |
1.5 cups | grated old cheddar cheese |
1 Pkg | elbow macaroni noodles |
3 | slices of Bologna |
2 cups | italian seasoned croutons |
non-stick cooking spray |
Prepare macaroni noodles as per package directions. Drain, and set aside.
Preheat oven to 350.
In a small pan, melt 2 tbsp. butter. Add milk and stir until mixed. Add milk and egg. Whisk vigorously until it is all combined, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Remove from heat, set aside.
In a medium frying pan, heat 2 tbsp. of butter.
Crush the croutons until they are all broken, and fry in the butter for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, set aside.
Slice bologna into small pieces (about 1cmX1cm).
Spray a large casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine, cheese sauce, noodles, and bologna. Stir until well combined.
Dump noodle mixture into prepared casserole dish, and top with fried crushed croutons. Spread evenly across top of noodles.
Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the croutons are golden brown.
