Marinated with fresh lemon, minced garlic and chopped cilantro, these Baked Chicken Wings are a delight to the senses!
|1||Small onion, finely chopped|
|2||Cloves garlic, minced|
|0.5 cup||(125 mL) Chopped cilantro|
|Juice and zest of 1 lemon|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Turmeric|
|1||Package (16 pieces) Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Chicken Wings|
|Salt and pepper|
|0.25 cup||(60 mL) Canola oil|
|2 cups||(500 mL) Ready prepared BBQ sauce|
COMBINE the first five ingredients and pulse in a food processor until blended. Season wings with salt and pepper then place wings and blended ingredients in a large re-sealable plastic bag. Refrigerate overnight.
PREHEAT over to 350°F (180°C). HEAT a large skillet over medium-high heat, add oil. Remove wings from bag, shaking off excess marinade. Brown in skillet, working in batches. Place browned wings on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 185°F (85°C).
PLACE wings in a large bowl with BBQ sauce and toss to coat before serving.
