This easy hand held corn dog is easy to make and big on taste...great for any Sports game this summer. Crunchy crust surrounds a juicy hot dog that is wrapped in bacon all smothered in a tender warm batter.
|6||Schnieder Country Natural or Red Hot dogs|
|6||slices Schneiders or Maple Leaf smoked bacon|
|1 tsp||chipotle powder|
|1/4 tsp||each salt, pepper, garlic powder|
|1 tbsp||peri peri sauce or any hot sauce|
|1 1/2 cup||milk or unsweetened almond milk|
|1/2 cup||corn flour|
|1 tsp||baking powder|
|3 tbsp||chopped chives|
|vegetable oil for frying|
Bake the bacon partially at 375F for approx. 10min. Drain on paper towel
Whisk the egg, seasonings and herbs together. Add the milk, mix.
Stir in the flours and baking powder with a fork, just until blended. Let it rest to prep the dogs.
Insert a popsicle stick into each hot dog.
Wrap the cooled bacon around each dog securing with toothpicks as you go.
Pour the batter into a tall container.
Dip each hot dog into the batter to cover.
Fry in preheated oil in a large enough pot to hold the dog and the stick, 2 at a time to not overcrowd and cool the oil
Turn over when golden brown on the bottom and cooked until golden brown on all sides
