An apple pie topped with bacon


10 Strips of Maple Leaf Hearty Slice Bacon
8 Cortland Apples
2 tbsp Lemon Juice
½ cup Sugar
¼ cup All Purpose Flour
1 tbsp Cinnamon
½ tbsp Nutmeg
1 Tenderflake Pie Crust


PEEL the apples and then cut them in half. Core them, and slice them. Toss them into a pan along with the lemon juice.

MIX together the sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.

TOSS the apples with the dry mix that was just prepared. Once done, put the apples in the pie crust, making sure to fill it to the top

COVER the pie with aluminum foil, and bake for 40 minutes at 400F

COVER the pie with 5x5 bacon weave. Make sure that the bacon goes over all the edges

BAKE the pie for another 15-25 minutes, or until the bacon is nice and crispy

COOL the pie, and then serve.
