About this Recipe

This sweet and savoury dish makes a great snack, with the perfect balance of salt and sweet.


2 cups (500 mL) Sugar
1 cup (250 mL) Water
1 cup (250 mL) Peanuts or cashews, toasted
1 1 (85 g) Package Maple Leaf® Ready Crisp® Bacon Pieces
1 tbsp (15 mL) Butter
Pinch cayenne
Pinch cinnamon


PREPARE a baking sheet with parchment paper.

BRING sugar and water to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook for 20-25 minutes or until liquid is golden in colour.

STIR in nuts, bacon bits, butter and spices. Spread mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and cool until hard. Break into bite-size pieces and enjoy!


Store in an airtight container. Makes a great host / hostess gift.
