This elegant dish features fresh bacon and tomato tortellini tossed in a creamy rose sauce.


1 Small onion, chopped
1 tbsp (15 mL) Olive oil
2 Cloves garlic, minced
2 Roma tomatoes, chopped
1 tsp (5 mL) Red pepper flakes
1 (600 mL) Container Olivieri® Rosé Sauce
1 (700 g) Package Olivieri® Three Cheese Tortellini
1 (85 g) Package Maple Leaf® Natural Selections® Bacon Pieces
¼ cup (60 mL) Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided
¼ cup (60 mL) Freshly chopped basil, divided


COOK pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving ½ cup (125 mL) of pasta water and set aside.

HEAT olive oil over medium-high heat, add onion and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add garlic, tomatoes and red pepper flakes and continue to cook for 1-2 minutes. Pour in rosé sauce and bring to a simmer. Add tortellini and bacon pieces; toss to coat. Remove from the heat and stir in half the Parmesan cheese and basil. Spoon onto a serving platter and sprinkle with the remaining cheese and basil.
