You will never have to go to a chocolatier again with this recipe. These truffles studded with bacon will be a star in your recipe repertoire.
|2 Pkg||85 gr Maple Leaf Ready Crisp Bacon bits|
|12 oz||dark chocolate|
|1 cup||semisweet chocolate chips|
|1 cup||35% cream|
|1/2 tbsp||cayenne pepper|
|1 tsp||vanilla extract|
|1/2 cup||cocoa powder|
|1 cup||white or dark bakers chocolate|
Place cream, cayenne and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and stir frequently.
Add chocolates and stir constantly until melted. Remove from heat. Pour mixture into a bowl, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 3 hours.
Once the mixture is solid using a heaping tsp scoop 30 pieces of chocolate into rounds. Melt bakers chocolate in microwave for 1 to 2 minutes stirring frequently.
Drizzle melted chocolate over truffles and sprinkle bacon bits over top. Refrigerate on a parchment lined baking sheet for 30 minutes longer to set.
Makes a great host/hostess gift during the holidays.
