A tender and juicy chicken patty infused with bacon and topped with creamy avocado and fresh tomato.
1 tbsp | (15 mL) Olive oil |
1/2 | Small onion, diced |
1/4 | Red pepper, diced |
1 | lb Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Extra Lean Ground Chicken |
2 | Slices Maple Leaf® Bacon, finely chopped |
1 | Egg yolk |
1/4 cup | Bread crumbs |
Salt and pepper to taste | |
3 | D’Italiano™Crustini buns, split |
1 | Tomato, sliced |
1 | Ripe avocado, sliced |
1/4 cup | (60 mL) Mayonnaise |
PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high and lightly spray with non stick cooking spray.
HEAT oil in a skillet set over medium heat. Sauté onions, peppers and garlic until soft, about 5 to 6 minutes. Set aside to cool.
COMBINE chicken, bacon and sautéed onion
mixture in a large bowl. Add egg, bread
crumbs and salt and pepper. Mix together and shape into 3-4 patties.
GRILL patties for 5-6 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 165˚F (74˚C). Place the crustini buns, cut side down on the grill and lightly toast.
SERVE burgers topped with tomato, avocado and mayonnaise.
Serve with an ice cold Pepsi® and Lay’s® potato chips!
