A tender and juicy chicken patty topped with creamy avocado and fresh tomato.
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Olive oil|
|1||Small onion, diced|
|.5||Red pepper, diced|
|2||Packages (about 800 g) Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Extra Lean Ground Chicken|
|1||Egg, lightly beaten|
|.33 cup||Bread crumbs|
|pepper to taste|
|6||Cheese buns, split|
|1||Ripe avocado, sliced|
PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high and lightly spray with non stick cooking spray.
HEAT oil in a skillet set over medium heat. Sauté onions, peppers and garlic until soft, about 5 to 6 minutes. Set aside to cool.
COMBINE chicken, bacon and sautéed onion mixture in a large bowl. Add egg, bread crumbs and salt and pepper. Mix together and shape into 6 patties.
GRILL patties for 5-6 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Place the cheese buns, cut side down on the grill and lightly toast.
SERVE burgers topped with tomato, avocado and mayonnaise.
