Traditional Asian chicken dumplings simmered in a simple yet savoury chili-ginger soup mixture.


2 tsp (10 mL) Vegetable oil
1 Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast Portion, minced
8 cups (2 L) Chicken broth, no salt added
1 tbsp (15 mL) Fresh ginger, minced
1/2 Carrot, cut into matchsticks
1 tbsp (15 mL) Soy sauce
1 tbsp (15 mL) Balsamic vinegar
1 tsp (5 mL) Sesame oil
1 tsp (5 mL) Hot chili garlic sauce
12 Frozen Chinese dumplings
1 cup (250 mL) Packed fresh baby spinach


HEAT oil in a pot, sauté chicken for 8-9 minutes or until golden brown. Add chicken broth and ginger. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 4-5 minutes.

ADD carrots, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and sesame oil. Stir to combine. Return to a boil and add dumplings. Lower heat and simmer until dumplings are tender. Stir in spinach, remove from heat and serve piping hot.
