This is a great variation of meatloaf, especially for the fall season! Low in fat, this is healthy, too!
|1 lb||ground turkey|
|1/2 cup||unsweetened apple sauce|
|1/5 cups||apple pie bagel crumbs|
|2 tbsp||unsweetened apple sauce|
|1||royal gala apple|
|non-stick cooking spray|
|1 tsp||dried sage|
|1 tsp||dried basil|
The night before you make this:
Crumble 1.5 apple pie bagels. Spread evenly on a cookie sheet, and allow to dry over night to make bagel crumbs.
When ready to make the meatloaf:
Preheat oven to 375
Spray a 9X13 pan with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine turkey, egg, apple pie bagel crumbs, 1/2 cup apple sauce, sage, basil, salt.
Mix just until well combined. Press into pan.
Wash and thinly slice an apple, and top the meatloaf with this slices, covering entirely.
Bake for 45minutes, topping the meatloaf with the remaining 2 tbsp. of apple sauce when there is 20minutes remaining until done.
