Sweet and tangy BBQ sauce made with apple butter and ale. Perfect compliment to tender succulent pork chops.
|2 tbsp||Olive oil|
|1||Small onion, diced|
|2||Cloves garlic, minced|
|1 tbsp||Grainy mustard|
|3 tbsp||Apple butter|
|1/2||Bottle Indiana Pale Ale|
|1 tbsp||Brown sugar|
|4||Maple Leaf Prime® Portions Boneless Pork Chops|
|Salt & pepper|
HEAT oil in a small saucepan over medium-high. Add onion and garlic. Sauté for 4-5 minutes or until soft and fragrant. Stir in grainy mustard, apple butter, beer, ketchup and sugar. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until reduced by half. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high. Lightly coat the grill with non-stick cooking spray.
SEASON pork chops with salt and pepper. Grill pork chops for 5-6 minutes per side, brushing liberally with the prepared BBQ sauce. Pork is cooked when evenly char-grilled and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
For a smoky flavour, add ½ tsp (2 mL) liquid smoke to your sauce.
