About this Recipe

Creamy, decadent risotto with ham, peas and white Cheddar.

Ingredients

2 tbsp Olive oil
1/3 cup Diced onion
1/2 cup Diced red pepper
2 Maple Leaf® Ham Steaks, diced
1 cup Ready prepared Alfredo sauce
1 cup Milk
4 cups Cooked Basmati rice or 2 (250 g) packages Ready Prepared Express Basmati rice
1/2 cup Frozen peas or chopped, blanched asparagus
Salt & pepper
1 cup Grated white cheddar cheese

Directions

HEAT oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Add onion, pepper and ham. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the onion is soft. Stir is Alfredo sauce, milk, basmati rice and peas or asparagus. Cook for 5-6 minutes or until heated through. Season with salt and pepper. Just before serving, stir in half the Cheddar cheese. Divide between serving bowls and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

Notes

Garnish with additional cheese.
