About this Recipe

The star here is the Maple Leaf bacon which works in total harmony with the ripe banana, creamy peanut butter and grilled fresh Dempster's White bread. Great for a special Brunch and the kids will love it!

3 slices of Dempster's white bread
4 strips of Maple Leaf bacon
4 tbsp creamy peanut butter
1 small ripe banana
2 tsp soft butter

In a fry pan grill the Maple Leaf bacon until cooked through and crispy. Turn off heat, Place bacon on paper towel to absorb grease. Place fry pan to the side. Do not wash fry pan, you want to keep bacon drippings for frying. This will add even more great flavor to the sandwich. Peel and cut the banana into thin slices. Spread 1 Tbsp of peanut butter on one piece of bread, add 2 strips of bacon, place half of the banana slices evenly . Spread another piece of bread with 1 Tbsp of peanut butter, place on top of the bacon, peanut butter side down. Spread 1 Tbsp peanut butter on top of that piece of bread, add 2 strips of bacon, the last of the sliced banana. Spread the last Tbsp of peanut butter on the 3rd piece of bread and place on top peanut butter side down. Spread 1 tsp of softened butter on the top piece of bread. Heat up the fry pan again, with bacon drippings. Using a spatula gently flip the sandwich and place it butter side down on the fry pan. While it is grilling, butter the top piece of the sandwich with 1 tsp butter. Grill until golden, and flip over. Grill until golden. Turn off heat. Slice in half and plate. Enjoy your "Decadent Double Decker Bacon Sandwich" and the game.

If preferred, you could also mash the banana or use crunchy peanut butter depending on your preference. Cut into quarters and secure with picks.
